Good Afternoon!
So I just finished eating breakfast=). So for many of you all who do not know I was born in Los Angeles and both of my parents are from Guatemala. A couple of weeks ago 3 earthquakes occurred in Guatemala in less than a week. It is so sad because they caused great damage. Many families do not have shelter, food or clothes. Adults and children are suffering.
This saddens me and I have family over there in Guatemala also so I understand how people who live here feel that their loved ones are suffering. Having a crown and sash is not only about being pretty and going out to events, it is also about helping others when they need it. So of course by being Miss California many doors open for me but I am not doing this for my own good. I want to make a difference with my title.

I had the honor to host with Tony Salazar a show where many artists performed and all the money made from it was sent over to Guatemala. It was a free event but there was coffee, tea, pupusas, chuchitos and many more traditional foods.

Hosting was pretty scary I must say. I was so happy it was my first time hosting and I had no idea what to say but I realized that you just have to get rid of the nerves and then you just start talking. It was fun I enjoyed it and met many people that I now work with. And many that I will like to work with in the future.

I was happy I had the chance to host but I was really excited to see how many people even though it was cold came out to support us. Thank you to all the volunteers and everyone who made the event possible and also to the artist who came for free. Because let me tell you all the artist gave up their time to come sing to this event to show their support. No one got paid this was an event to benefit Guatemala. We did it with lots of love and with all our hearts.
